The following are a
few of the many benefits to using EasyFloor:
Radiant heat produces the greatest
comfort level for your home. Heat is maintained
near the floor and in the furniture you sit on, not
wasted up at the ceiling level. Since there are no
ducts and blowers, there are no drafts and the blower
noise is eliminated.

The
American Lung Association has warned that elements
within our home have been increasingly recognized as
threats to our respiratory health. The most common
pollutants include radon, molds, pet dander, pollen,
volatile organic compounds, lead dust and
asbestos. Forced-air heating systems make this
problem worse by circulating these particles through the
air we breathe. Radiant heat system do not use air
ducts and therefore create a healthier home
environment.
Modern
radiant heating systems are much more efficient than
forced-air systems. Energy costs are rising and
the forecast is for costs to continue to rise.
That translates to big operational savings for users of
radiant heat. Radiant heat has traditionally had
higher upfront costs than forced air systems, however,
new technologies are quickly bringing the initial costs
for installing radiant heat down to near that of a
forced air system.
The
boiler systems used to supply the heat for the house
also deliver practically unlimited hot water for
showers, large bathtubs, laundry and other
needs.
For minimal additional cost,
radiant heat can also be installed in sidewalks, driveways
and garages. Youll never have to shovel snow again!
Control systems will insure that these systems run only
when needed to keep operational costs minimal.
ADVANTAGES:
Clearly, radiant heating offers many benefits that
forced-air systems cannot. Once you have decided that
radiant heat is right for your new home, you should look at
how the Easy Floor system compares with other types of
radiant heat systems. You will find the EasyFloor
System offers the following advantages:
The
"sandwich" design of EasyFloor, incorporating a true
radiant barrier and PEX-AL-PEX tubing with heat plates,
creates one of the most efficient radiant floors.
Operating temperatures are typically in the 90 degree to
120 degree F range.
It is
important that radiant floors have a thermal mass to
help spread the heat more evenly (reduce "striping") and
to help maintain constant room temperature. With a
½" thermal mass (cement fiber board), EasyFloor has the
perfect size of thermal mass - not too big and not too
small. Larger masses like concrete and light
concrete, can have difficulty with over-warming
("flywheel effect"), or slow recovery time. Floors
without any thermal mass are not as effective as those
with a thermal mass.
In
order for a radiant barrier to be effective, it must
have "air" in front of the barrier. The EasyFloor
grid, setting on top of the reflective foil, creates an
ideal radiant barrier that deflects radiant energy from
the tubing up on to the thermal mass - significantly
improving operating efficiency. The FloorHeat
Company knows of no other method that creates this
important operating feature.
The
"dead air" space created by the EasyFloor grid, along
with the premium sound-deadening reflective foil,
creates a superior noise reduction floor. This is
especially important in multi-floor buildings (condos
and commercial projects).
The
EasyFloor design, aluminum PEX and heat plate do not
have noise created by radiant tubing expansion and
contraction (tube "singing")
The combination of cement fiber
board and TPO plastic grid form an effective retardant
barrier.
SYSTEM INTEGRATION:
Radiant heat systems can be integrated with other innovative system
to further increase the comfort, healthy environment, and energy efficiency
of your new house.
Integration of Domestic hot water - The boiler or
other heat source used to heat the house can also be used
to supply your domestic hot water needs, eliminating the
need for a hot water heater. It will also cost less to
meet your domestic hot water needs. |
Radiant heat is generally coupled
with High efficiency air conditioning units that can be
located in the attic. These units typically
operate 30-40 percent more efficient than traditional
air-conditioning systems.
Radiant heat systems eliminate
blower systems that circulate pollutants throughout your
house. IAQ systems work well with radiant heat
systems to introduce fresh air into the house and filter
out pollutants.
Home
safety and convenience is increased by adding snowmelt
systems for your sidewalks and driveway. These are
easily added to your radiant heat system with minimal
extra cost.
